The J&R cohort serves as a means of practicing "hermeneutical belonging," a way of being with one another that informs how each participant thinks about social-political causes and instances of systematic injustice.

Hope College and Western Theological Seminary have established a “3-2” pastor-preparation program to provide specialized training. 


The new Vita Scholars Program will enable students to graduate both from Hope with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from the seminary with a Master of Divinity degree after a total of five years instead of the usual seven.
